What a Copywriting VIP Day Gets You (And What It Doesn't)

If you've ever Googled "how to hire a copywriter" and immediately felt overwhelmed by retainers, timelines, and proposal processes, this post is for you.
Done-in-a-day copywriting is exactly what it sounds like. One day, one focused project, and a whole lot off your plate.
Here's how a copywriting VIP day works at Nomad Copy Agency, what you can realistically expect to walk away with, and how to know whether it's the right format for your business.
What Can Be Done in a Single VIP Day?
There are three main deliverables I produce in a day.
A full website (four pages)
This is a home page, about page, services page, and contact page. Ideally, it’s 90% done when I hand it off at the end of the day, meaning you might tweak a word here or there, but it's ready to send straight to your designer.
I did this for a bookkeeper who was niching down to veterinarians and pet care businesses. She went from no niche to a fully written website for a specific audience in one day. Her testimonial said,
“What took Sam hours would have taken me days or even weeks! I can’t believe I get to send this to my designer just days after our copy kickoff!”
Two years later, most of that copy is still live on her site, unchanged.
A high-converting sales page
Your sales page has to do a lot of jobs for a lot of people. It’s a page that people visit & read once, twice, sometimes five times before they decide to buy. It needs to speak to first-time visitors and the person who's been on your list for two years. It needs to work for skimmers and for the people who read every word.
I recently rewrote a sales page for Allison Hardy ahead of an upcoming launch. Her feedback was,
“Sam I got right to the heart of what I was trying to say, and it still sounded like me! I have a strong sales page that converts, and can head straight to launch mode.”
Copy that sounds like the bots wrote it doesn't convert as well as copy that sounds like the person selling. So yeah, human-written copy wins every time.
Core launch emails (7 to 10)
A full launch can include 25 to 35 emails when you count every segmented sequence. In a VIP day, I write the core seven to ten emails that do the heaviest lifting: the ones that go to your whole list, educate them on your offer, and move them toward a decision.
I did this recently for Holly, who came to me with a launch on the horizon and no time to write for it. I had all of her copy done within 48 hours. Her open rates went up. The launch met her goals. And she said her attention to detail was next level, which is what happens when someone who studies email performance (not just email writing) is behind the keyboard.
What a VIP Day Is NOT Built For
A VIP day is a single focused scope, done really well, in one day. If what you want is multiple rounds of revisions, someone who can make pivots mid-launch, or a full funnel from opt-in to sales page to email sequence with back-and-forth collaboration, that's a project, not a VIP day.
If you want your eyes on every stage of the process, a VIP day won’t get you there – and that’s ok!
For clients who want the full-funnel approach or an ongoing collaborative process, I offer project-based work. You’d still fill out this form to get started, we’d just work together for longer, and your investment is based on deliverables rather than time. .
Example Results From Past VIP Days
Morgan Specht came to me after maternity leave feeling like her website no longer sounded like her. She was hesitant to share it. The buttons weren't leading people where they expected to go, and the copy had drifted from who she'd become in her business.
After her VIP day, she booked nearly $20,000 in new work in the month that followed, because she was sharing her site again, and because the copy was resonating with her ideal clients.
Samia came to me for a sales page. English is her second language, and what she wanted to say about her work wasn't translating on the page the way it sounded in her head. She wanted her copy to sound like her, not like a copywriter.
What she said afterward:
““Sam took the time to get to know me and my business before she started writing, and what I like most is that my copy now sounds like me and my brand.””
How to Book a Copywriting VIP Day
After you submit, my system sends you a link to book a call. That call is free, and it can work as either a fit call or the actual kickoff for your project.
Before you book a VIP Day:
There's typically a three to four week lead time for VIP days. Projects are currently booked eight to nine weeks out. If something is urgent, reach out anyway. I sometimes have last-minute openings or can move things around.
You can also put a deposit down to lock in a future date if you're planning ahead. If you've got a fall launch in mind and it's still spring, now is a good time to get on the calendar.
And pro tip: if your kids are headed to summer camp and you were planning to use that week to write your own copy, you might want to rethink that. More than one client has come to me after realizing their "free week" disappeared faster than expected. You deserve that time back too.
